Mamma Mebrat has been in the Washington DC area for a few months now. Of
all the things she saw and observed nothing had impressed her more than
the little rectangular piece of card - the CREDIT CARD. Whenever the son
and Mamma Mebrat go out to eat on one of the 18th street restaurants,
the son would eat like a horse and she would nibble at her food then the
son would blow a hefty belch and plunges his hand into one of his
pockets and BAAM! he pulls his credit card out and scribbles something
for the waitress and off they go. When they go shopping for clothes the
son would by his lather jacket and rainbow colored shirts and for his
mom a button up sweater and BAAM! Out comes the credit card and off they
go again.
Mamma Mebrat has been observing this with an enthusiastic interest
marveling at what a little card can do. When the time to go back home
came, the mother and son were having a heart to heart conversation just
a few hours before her departure time. In the middle of their chit chat
the son pulls out a thousand dollars and riched out to give it to his
mom saying "Momma, here is some money for you to spend back home"
Suddenly Mamma Mebrat lifted her eye brows and gave him a are-you-crazy?
kind of look. The son a bit taken aback asked, "What's wrong Mamma?" To
that his mother replied "Come now, boy, Just give me that little piece
of paper and I won't bother you asking for money any more!"
