The impact is not direct, and it is almost a cultural one. Many
African-Americans often believe that along with being "discarded" from being
Africans, we are often slighted in terms of being American, but our African
brothers and sisters, some favoring whites.
Of course, this is not an across-the-board thing, my African-Americans have
severe problems in terms of their African heritage, favoring whites, and the
feelings towards those from the continent.
Yet, from our own history of whites favoring the "lighter" ones, I can
imagine the some of you may have sensed a favoritism from white people for
those of you they find most acceptable "pretty" according to their standards
of beauty.
