Selam Seb Dehai,
I am what you consider a silent dehair, due to my academic studies and
the
mere fact that I only speak when I have something worthwhile to say.
There
are a lot of issues that impact Eritrea and it's people at home and
abroad, but people concentrate on issues of no relevance to the people of
Eritrea i.e. war with Sudan. Does anyone out there really want Eritrea to
go to War with Sudan? Didn't enough people suffer during the 30 years
that
Eritrea was on the battlefield for its freedom from the malicious acts
bestowed upon Eritreans by the dergues all over the world. I am all for
an
constructive dialogue that benefits people in uderstanding the central
issues that affect Eritrea and its people, but the issue of Sudan and
Eritrea going to War will benefit no one. I have not read any document
from the Embassy of Eritrea or the President himself, that dictates that
Eritrea has declared war on Sudan or Sudan is going to war with Eritrea.
Hmmm-here is a thought. What about discussing issues of intergenerational
conflicts that exist in MOST Eritrean's home due to the misunderstanding
from the children and parents. The issues of alcoholism and Aids that
directly affect people's lives. What about, those who spend four to six
years working night and day to earn their degree to only find out that
they can't find a job-can we build some kind of network to assist our
educated brothers and sisters so that they are successful in their field.
That's how the old boy network works.
There are so many roads that need to be traveled
by people in dehai. I believe the previous issues warrant our attention
and should be discussed so that we, as people of Eritrea, could come to
some understanding in alleviating the frustrations and struggles of
people
who may not know the immediate and long term solutions. After all, dehai
is an arena where people come together and discuss issues to benefit all
Eritreans. Please hear me out!
