Kamal: thank you for the excerpts from Denden's book. The loyalty of
authors of history, particularly of Eritrean revolution, is tested when they
attempt to write about the latter years - 1970 to 1991.
Osman Salih Denden is/was Osman Salih Sabe's representative/wakil bet
tsiHfet in Saudi Arabia. I would highly be interested to know as what he's going
to write in part II of his book, about Sabe's removal of the position he
occupied until 1969/70, while he was one of the ELF Qiada Al Ama. The then head
of Qiada Al Ama, Idris Mohamed Adem said that Sabe was trying to submit
important secret ELF documents to the government of Ethiopia. I am not sure if
that was true or not, but the then ELF leaders made the biggest mistake of
their life by removing Sabe from the leadership. Did they learn from their
mistake? No. Ten years latter they made another mistake by demoting Abdela
Idris. The expression `live and learn' was not said for nothing.
Respectfully,
Solomon Paulos
