ROME (Sept. 5) - Mother Teresa, the Nobel Peace prize winner who founded an
order of nuns dedicated to the downtrodden, has died, her Sisters of Charity
order said Friday in Rome. She was 87.
One of her nuns at her order's home in Rome, said the sisters were praying
for her soul at a Mass. The nun, who refused to be identified, confirmed
Mother Teresa's death in the name of the convent's superior, Mother
Constanzia.
The nun said the convent was notified about the death at about 7:30 p.m. and
that she had no other details to give.
