The research department of the Ministry of Local Government is conducting a
national socio-economic survey and would like to hire an Eritrean national
with the following skills;
A. Adequate knowledge of Tigrigna
B. Training and experience in social survey research
C. Familiarity with data processing methods
including the use of a statistical package to analyse quantititative data.
The specific statistical package we will be using is StatView by Abacus
(1918 Bonita Ave. Berkeley, CA 94794). Familiarity with that software,
in the Macintosh or IBM versions, would be a major plus but is not mandatory.
D. Familitarity with Microsoft Access would be of great value since we
will be converting all our data into a formal data base at the end of the
research project
E. Training in one of the social sciences: anthropology, sociology,
economics or political science: indicate degree(s) and work completed
toward the achievement of the degrees.
Salary: 3000 Birr per month
Transportation: candidates will be expected to furnish their
own transportation to and from Eritrea
Period: aproximately one year starting as soon as possible
