Selamat,
The latest issue of African Business has an exclusive report on Eritrea.
There is abundant data and material to discuss ,but what meaningful output
can be expected without the dehai vivifiers who so courageously and
publicly prepared us for their imminent , albeit temporary, withdrawal.
Due to the self-imposed absence of its stars, Dehai is presently
undergoing a difficult period. The resultant intellectual void has left
those in the Diaspora as well as in Eritrea in desolation, deprivation and
desperation.
The Internet Global Society interrupted its meeting on reforming the
Internet domain system to pay attention to this urgent matter since
policy making relating to Eritrea is now paralyzed. Reform and
restructuring are likely recommendations.
Dehaiers across the globe are asking one another, were where you and what
were you doing when the dehai sabbatical was announced ? Most are replying
in tears and only few can maintain their composure. Many in denial still
frequent Dehai.
May those who are having serious problems dealing with this find solace
in imagining the public announcement of the glorious return of the
redeemers; drums and trumpets abound.
And to those for whom imagining is not a strength, perhaps poet Catherine
Davis' words may alleviate their indelible pain, "One more thing lost is
one thing less to lose."
Aradom
