selam everyone,

Sal, I don't like your proposal. I can't imagine dehai without the
spontaneous reaction of those on the list and the deliberate informative and
educational postings by many of you. I urge you to reconsider. If lack of
original ideas is the reason for the 'vow for silence', I don't think
staying away from dehai is going to solve it. On the contrary,
brainstorming on how best to utilize this precious medium is what may be
needed here.

In my view, a practical and useful vow may be to "keep religion out of
dehai" - and I mean - directly or indirectly.

A wise man (Ronald Reagan) once said, "it is not marriage that civilizes
men; it is women."

I never thought of Reagan as wise, but if he said this, he must be (have
been) one. I agree. I hope my fellow women on dehai will take up this
call, and use the opportunity to bring wisdom into dehai discussions.
Hidaat, Sewit, Salome, Zebiba, Nardos, Rahel, Ada, et.al and the many
silent dehaiers - please bring out the issues. As for me - time has become
my biggest enemy; unable to write anything that makes sense, I have
relegated myself to mostly reading only.
