Selam Michael,

Christianity was an "African" religion long before it ever came to any
European country. It spread from the Middle East and North Africa as far
south as Ethiopia, possibly farther south, to Europe.

One of the greatest theologians in the Protestant church was Augustine, an
African from the 2nd century AD. He has had a greater influence on Christian
theology than almost anyone else. He has been to Christian theology what
Plato and Socrates have been to philosophy.

The Christianity you see today tends to have a Western face on it which leads
many to assume it is western. It actually originates from the Middle East,
from Palastine. People tend to put their own cultural layer on their beliefs.
