Selamat Tesfay:-
Thanks for sharing your acting experience in a Spielberg's
movie with us. As far as I can recall (3 years), this is the first time
someone mentioning something a bout any movie (let alone
telling about any experience) in Dehai.
The closest blinking to a movie I have noticed in Dehai was
when everyone began singing about Eritrea's "Independence Day"
when it was a premiere show for a movie in the States by the same name.
( It was more appropriate to call it National Day or Day of Freedom
as it is in Tigrinya (meAlti Harnet) because African "Independence" Days were
never achieved as they did in Eritrea (IMHO, it is like belittling the great
Eritrean revolution) and American "Independence Day" is quite another
story). Talk about USRID (Uncle-Sam-related-intellectual-damage)!
I don't quite understand the huge dissinterest of movies in Dehai.
I have always wished to read some critics on movies (especially black movies
by S. Lee, Singleton, Jackson) from the States since 99% of the movies that
reach here are American ones. It would be fabulous if Sirak, Senay and
other Dehai-news "anchors" could balance their news clips by sending
some articles on movie critics.
Well Tesfay, I wish you good luck for your future movie career. You
have had a good start. Who knows you may be the one who can give
the Eritrean film industry a real kick.
BTW, don't call us, we will call you...;-)
