Selam Ghidewon and dehaiers,

I have just returned to my usual working place after a week or so to
again find the subject topic still on fire. In between your commentary
which I fully enjoyed, I noticed a sentence which was misfired and hit
my bruised tonsils again rather than my brain, whose maturity level has
reached as low as the "bayta". I have blamed my poor English usage for
the misunderstanding. The sentence where you brush off my comment by
off-setting from your main argument not tangentially but perpendicularly
was this.

"I have no idea why people who didn't care to define democracy were
objecting to its comparison with Zigni."

What pushed me to respond wasn't only the above sentence but to make one
or two points clear. As for the above sentence I couldn't fathom to
why you expected every participant to define democracy before they
embark on giving their views. I for one, am suffocated with the hundred
and one and still rising definition of the word democracy and I must say
that it was surprising that some are still searching for other
definitions. I will take the risk of repeating myself to amplify a few
points. The message I was trying to convey contains three points. One
was in a way to beg those unpractical but paper "Felasfatat" to come
down to earth and identify their "MergeSi" and not cover behind
sugar-coated and impressive-looking articles. The second was that it is
my belief that Eritrea should adopt a democracy in whatever meaning or
definition that reflects our culture and tradition, moral values and
standards and above all our past experience. The third was where the
'Zigni' came in. Just as you would gradually introduce your
unaccustomed stomach to a reach Zigni, I believe it is prudent to
implement democracy slowly and progressively while improving the basic
survival necessities of the majority. Democracy is not a fashion that
comes and goes....... so why the haste was the gist of my message.

It is, looking at it from this angle, that I failed to understand as to
why you expected a definition of democracy with every article as a soup
for starter.
