An American couple being held in the Netherlands since 1995 were sent back to
the US last week. The couple, who face a stiff jail sentence for growing
marihuana in their backyard escaped to the Netherlands while their were on
bail. The supreme court rejected their appeal and found FBI request justified.
Before leaving they thanked all the Dutch people who campaigned for their
release for almost two years.
Interesting to know is, had the couple committed this crime in the Netherlands
they would have most likely received a WARNING from the police to remove the
marihuana! In the Netherland a 30 gram possession of marihuana or any other
softdrug for "personal use" is legal.
