Dear Eritrean Accounting Professionals and Friends of Eritrea in the
Accounting Field:
I am writing to keep you posted on Eritrean Accounting Association (EAA)
matters, and to let you know that we really want you to join us as
members of EAA.
I regret to tell you that so far EAA has only 14 full-fledged members and
one student member. Frankly, I am puzzled why you and many others who were
expected to become members have not joined EAA, so far. Nevertheless, it
is not too late, so please join us. If you have a good reason why you are
not inclined to join EAA, let us know, so that we don't unnecessarily
continue to bother you. [If you are in our mailing list, you will receive
a copy of this letter through your postal address]
Due to the small membership pool that we have so far, EAA has not
accomplished much that I can report to you at this stage. We are not
discouraged, however. Very soon, with people like yourself joining us, we
are confident that we will have a vibrant organization.
I cannot over emphasize the importance of your role as a member of EAA.
With your participation, EAA will be in a much better position to
accomplish its stated objectives. This week we were delighted to have
two Eritrean accounting professionals, residing in Nairobi, Kenya, Mr.
Ghebrehiwet Tesfamicael, and Ms. Asghedt Ghebrecristos, join EAA. We hope,
other Eritrean accounting professionals from different corners of the
world, will soon do so.
I urge you to be a member of EAA. Based on your particular circumstances
and your interests, you can determine the degree of your involvement and
participation. All that we ask of you is your cooperation, in whatever way
you can. We should not lose sight of the fact that the Eritrean people
expect a great deal from those of us in the diaspora. At the very least,
you may be able to help EAA financially through your membership dues.
Please send your membership fees, (US$100 for regular members, and US$50
for student membership) payable to the ERITREAN ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATION,
and mail to EAA Treasurer, Lemlem T. Natnael, at 3722 Broomsedge Ct.,
Fairfax, VA 22033, or to my address shown below.
With best personal regards.
Sincerely yours,
Araya Debessay
President, EAA
