Dear Members of the Eritrean Accounting Association (EAA),
I am writing to thank you for having joined the Eritrean Accounting
Association (EAA) as full-fledged fee-paying member, and to keep you
posted on EAA matters.
I am delighted to let you know that two Eritrean accounting professionals,
residing in Nairobi, Kenya, Mr. Ghebrehiwet Tesfamicael, and Ms. Asghedet
Gebrecristos, have become members of EAA, this past week. We hope, other
Eritrean accounting professionals from different corners of the world,
will soon do so.
Although EAA has only 14 full-fledged members and one student member so
far, we are making every effort to urge those who have not yet sent their
membership dues to do so. Frankly, I am puzzled why many others who were
expected to become members have not joined EAA so far, in spite of our
repeated reminders. I have just today sent another reminder to 37 Eritrean
Accounting professionals, and I hope we will get a better response this
time.
Our Membership Drive Committee, chaired by John Tesfazghi, is gearing to
wage a special campaign to boost our membership roster. If you are
interested to help in the EAA's membership drive efforts, please contact
John through his e-mail address: jtte@chevron.com.
John is also in the process of compiling EAA Members' Profile Booklet. If
you have not yet sent your picture, please do so and save John the trouble
of having to contact you.
Due to the small membership pool that we have so far, we have not
accomplished much that I can report to you at this stage. We are not
discouraged, however. With people like yourself and others who will,
hopefully, soon join us, we are confident that we will have a vibrant
organization. There is so much that we need to do to accomplish EAA's
stated objectives, but we need to build a strong membership base first.
Your help on this matter is, therefore, important to us. Please urge those
whom you know to join EAA.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any suggestions or questions. I
will continue to keep you posted on any worthwhile developments as they
unfold.
