Eriboy, I think the easiest way to get the information you need to install ERI-TV in Canada is to call Globecast World TV directly. Their toll free number is :
1-888-988-5288

However, Eritreans who have installed ERITV in your city could also give you additional information.

However, before you commit your self to it, it is good idea to know there is no site constraints to set up your satellite dish. For example, (1) Do you live in multi-story apartment? If so check if it is OK with the landlord to set up a dish. (2) Check the spot you would like to have the dish set up. The vertical and horizontal orientation of the dish relative to the satellite could affect your TV signal reception.

However, order the hardware you need after you made sure you will able to receive the TV signal from the satellite.

ሕድሮም፡
That is a sad story, but unfortunately it seems to be the norm than the exception these days. Yes, it is the kids that must take the responsibility of destroying themselves and giving some bad names to Eritrea! Unlike you, ሕድሮም, some of the Diaspora elements are also known to encouraging many of our youngsters to abandon Eritrea primarily for their selfish stand. They are encouraging them to "Just cross the border and we will send you all the money you need to come to the west"! They may have promised them many things they couldn't meet believing that they can go to some of Eritrea's detractors and get all the necessary funding to commit an act of illegal border crossing, in many cases, only to find their request for alms could not be materialized! When the disgraceful US ex Ambassador to Eritrea stated that all bets were for Diaspora use for the youngsters inside the country could not be encouraged to commit crime against their nation, he was not talking with empty dreams. He was fully aware that there were useless Eritrean Diasporas who use their boring "Human right" issue to get a mile or two on their scandalous adventures.
True, some of us wanted to go to Europe and America primarily for political reasons for we were under the Ethiopian colonization whose mark of its venomous criminal actions has yet to disappear from our body and mind. Those of us who have had the opportunity to escape the clutches of Ethiopian occupying forces, did what we can to help achieve our independence for which we take special pride for it was never handed to us in silver platter as the rest of the colonized people. Our independence, which will always remain near and dear to our heart, we have paid extreme pain and suffering in a lopsided chess game - only this game was mortal.
But, now, the kids who are now misled by the enemies of Eritrea have what we were seeking right in their back yard and in their own country. All our enemies want to tell the world is that the youth have indefinite military service with no pay and that they are being used as slave laborers etc etc. Yet, they are among the first to acuse the government of not doing anything to the sad state of affairs some of the kids find themselves. "ጩግራፍሲ ወቒዓ ተእዊ" እዩ ነገሩ!
Not that I wanted to respond to the sellouts idiotic comments, but for the record, let alone a small country like Eritrea, it is usual and customary practice (and wise too) to get the youngsters well trained and ready to defend one's country should there be a need for that. And having an envious and a war monger neighbor with a population 20 times as numerous, it is no brainer that the entire population be made ready in various facets of any hostility that may start against our country. One has to be dumb and stupid to expect our country to pay the enlistees on par with the developed industrialized countries! Fully aware of its short comings, the government is trying to compensate them by providing free everything as ሕድሮም eloquently stated.
Eritrea is on the verge of economic boom, and it is not smart to leave Eritrea even if one was going to forgone the indomitable Eritrean nationalism that is part of the DNA of our people.

Deki Ere, talk about FROM SH-TMELBA-TO-SH-TMELBA
(Shim Albo to Shim Albo) here is a true story of one of my relatives who decided to cross deserts and swim the oceans to chase the wind and to achieve an unattainable dream. This is the story of young man who decided to flash his bright future down the drain. His story is the story of the very young Eritreans who are stranded somewhere between the Sahara Desert and coastlines of the Mediterranean Sea, or those who are hoarded like animals at ShimT and other shanty towns of Ethiopia. His story goes like this:

Here was a bright young man who was given all the opportunity to achieve his dreams, all paid by the Eritrean people. Eritrea provided him all the good things on a silver platter. But here is a young man who flashed it away down the sewer. This is what you call a typical ZEBELALU TSAHILI ZISBIR story!all

As a young man, just like any other Eritrean child, he was given all the help and encouragement he needed to achieve the highest level of education in Eritrea. He was raised and nurtured both physically and intellectually to be somebody so he could help himself and his family and in the process to help build Eritrea. All paid by Eritrea, just like any other Eritrean kid, he was educated all the way from elementary school to college level for free.

Yes, you and I know what free education for all means in Eritrea. After six years of free higher education at Sawa and EIT Mai Nefhi, he graduated with the knowledge that was supposed to serve him and his country as long as he lived. The fruit of that free education was meant to change his generation and the generations to come. Do not forget, this is free college education which included free tuition, free textbooks, no laboratory fee, free dormitory, free food, and free medical expenses.

On the top of that, within a month after his graduation, this young man was duly employed; earning a handsome salary by all accounts. Yes, he was to be groomed to be the next generation to build and to lead Eritrea.

On the top that, he was in the first batch or the second batch of young men/women who were on standby to be sent aboard for post graduate studies-again all to be paid by Eritrea. Yes for M.S. and/or PH.D level educational programs and all to be paid again by Eritrea. You bet, how far this young man could have gone and how high he could have climbed the ladder of success-the sky was the limit. And all that to be paid by Eritrea. I repeat, and all these were to be paid by Eritrea.

Instead of grabbing this once in a life time opportunity and instead taking the initiative to benefit from it; this young man, for reason which is beyond me, has decided to literally and figuratively jump over the cliff. There are no political, economic, social issues that could have pushed this young man to take these drastic and destructive measures. There is none what so ever.

But out of the blue, this kid calls me from the Sudan; claiming to have left Eritrea illegally to go school some where in Europe. Leaving Eritrea illegally to go school in Europe!.? To go to college in Europe or USA?..! I was stunned. I was angry and I was sad to see him throw his future down the drain. The damage is done. However, just satisfy my curiosity, the only thing left for me was to ask a bunch of questions which included:

1. Did you say, you left Eritrea illegally to attend college in one of
the European countries? Hmmmmm.!

2. Let me get this straight; do you truly believe you will be able to
attend a post graduate school in one the European countries?
Hmmmmmmmm!

3. Do you know Europe is not Eritrea? In Eritrea, Eritrean kids go
to school free all the way from kindergarten to college. In fact,
Eritrea is the only African country where education, all the way
to college level, is free. By now, I am quite sure you have
already found out that there is no such thing free college
education in Europe and USA. So who to pay for your
education there? Hmmmmmmm!

4. At this very moment, do you know Europe is unable to employ
its youngsters let alone to send them to college. Here are the
Young Europeans on the streets without jobs and here you are
telling me there are elements in Europe inviting you to go
school in Europe? Hmmmmmm!

5. Do not forget, both in Europe and USA, you are expected to pay
for your tuition, dorm, textbooks, food, clothing, and
medical expenses? Assuming you are accepted to attend post
graduate education in Europe; then who to pay for your
schooling? If you are hoping these elements are to pay for your
education, then you must be living in dream world. This is the
reality. The question is how much money is your father to shell
out to pay for your schooling?

6. If what you claim is a legitimate educational deal, how come
they did not tell you your education in Europe is to be free
before you leave Eritrea? Do not forget, to be accepted into a
college any where in the world is one thing but who is to pay for
this education is quite another.

6. If this schooling is legitimate, how come they instructed you to
cross to the Sudan to complete the rest of the paper work?
Why not they let you finish the paper work from within Eritrean
and then you can leave from Eritrea legally without squandering
A year or two of your time and your fathers money?

7. Has it crossed your mind that this could be part of the grand
scheme to lure young Eritreans to cross the border and leave
them stranded between the Sahara Desert and Mediterranean
Sea? Have you ever entertained there is such an evil scheme in
full motion? You must know once you crossed the border, their
job to scatter the African youth is done and please do not be
shocked if you did not hear from them again!! I bet, you will
never hear from them again; for their have done their job.

8. You said your family gave you some money to cross to the
Sudan. How many dollars did your father and other relatives
shell out for this scandal? Are you telling me your father has
all the money to send you all they way through the Sudan or the
Sahara Desert to Europe? If money was not an issue in your
Family, then what was the inertia that drove to be in this
predicament. Most certainly, it could not be politically
Motivated either for you have seen what Shaebia is doing to
build a nation brick by brick.

9. One last question for you to entertain and contemplate. Are
sure you are not a victim of some evil elements. There are
elements who are engaged in evil schemes which goes: to
destroy a nation destroy the youth both from within and out. At
this point in time, they are not to send and invading army to
recolonize Africa but destroy the future builders, leaders, and
defenders of Africa (the African youth). Most definitely you are
an African youth on target.

These and some were the questions I asked him. To my shock, I was not able to get a single answer that makes sense. After these and some discussions, I gave him one and to the point advice. I told him to go home before it is too late. I told him to go home and ask forgiveness and start all over again. I told him, to not take my word for it. But to learn from those Eritreans that are stranded for 6, 8, and 10 years somewhere in the Sahara Desert and Mediterranean coast lines.

FROM SH-TMELBA-TO-SH-TMELBA::: for those who understood the, "WILD-WILD WEST", mode of survival, for those who appriciate your sponsors, loved ones, friends, for those who are so passionate about your family/country;for those who understood blaming is a waste of opportunity, for those who finally realized on how you have been used by the enemies of Eritrea; and that includes so called oppositions, aigames/weyanes/weyanes infectious diseases--I will say to all of you grate job but you have unfinished mission and vision. For those who are committing a crime against yourself before your one year anniversary and for those who continue to make a joke of yourself before one year anniversary by pearsing both ears, pony tails, an expert of 50 cent more than 50 cent, an expert on Jay-Z more than Jay-Z, an expert on youtube, face book, and an expert I KNOW IT ALL: ASK YOUR FRIENDS WHO ARE LOCKED-UP FOR RAPE BEFORE THEIR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, VISIT YOUR FRIENDS WHO LOCKED-UP FOR DUI (DRINKING UNDER INFLUENCE), AND HOPE YOU WILL LEAD YOUR NORMAL LIFE....THANK YOU

No body is interested to meet you or know you in person (not I at least). Your words speak volume. You sound you are one of those hijacked souls. What are you trying to say here? Have you done your homework why those youths are leaving their homeland physically if not mentally? Tell us in your own words if you care. If not spend sometime to search and learn why they are leaving. All kinds of ideas, analysis and solutions to the problem at hand have been laid out here in DBM by so many good people like My 2 Cents. Complaining is one thing having an alternative solution is another best. In any event keep in mind that the dog barks and the camel keeps its journey, that is the GoE and the people of Eritreas motto. Eritrea will prevail!

My 2-cents,
Your well articulated and balanced article would help the lost souls find their way back. We need to keep in mind that there are gullible young who lost their direction with variable empty promises that forced them to take desparate action but as a result they exposed themselves to uncountable crimes and had to face harsh situation unlike their expectation. This vulnerable group seem confused and need our help to learn to differentiate and we are obliged to handle the subject with patience and care to lead them the right direction out of confusion and misery. Thanks My2Cents and I hope many of us will follow your footsteps.
My advice to the group is also the same. You made your choice and left the country behind you. You should be strong enough to exploit the chance wherever you are. Dont waste your precious time and your young age on nonesense. Think positive, Study/work to help yourselves and support your family.

I do not think you know these people you are trying to insult. I do not think you know that EVERY ERITREAN (inside or outside the country) contributed towards Eritreas war effort -- not only in 1998-2000 -- but for several decades before that. It continues to do so now. Like IP 148.184.174.62 advised you, please learn and get educated about Eritrean citizens abroad.

The struggle for Eritreas independence was brought about by the physical presence and military engagement against Eritreas enemies by able and young Eritrean heroes inside the country and the many Eritreans that had abandoned their homes because the enemies made life unlivable in Eritrea and were living abroad.

Their livelihood was disrupted. Most had their villages burnt and their families incarcerated or killed by the enemy. They were not hademti. Their choice was to leave home and live abroad in order to live and help their country men and women that were fighting at home. They did not migrate to the West in search of the Greener Grass. Asylum grants were not available then. That is why the young and educated postponed their education. They joined the MaHber seraHtegnatat and earned their living wages from which they shared with their tegadelti at home. The female joined the domestic work force in Italy, the Middle East and elsewhere to earn their living from which they shared a portion also. They were also begging for money in snowy Europe to help with financial and logistical support towards the struggle in the meda.
You probably do not understand that logistics is 50% of the fighting force.

Like 148.184. 74.62 told you with a famous economic phrase, people are leaving now because It is the Economy, stupid.

But, you and your likes, are doing your best to extend the economic misery that causes the present migration.

You are trying to destroy the GOODWILL of your own nation by hollering in European squares to defame your government. Goodwill is the value of a reputation attached to an economic undertaking. By destroying Eritreas goodwill, you are trying to chase away investors from investing in the Eritrean mining industry. STOP THAT.

A word of advice: Now that you are out of Eritrea and in a place where schooling is available, GO TO SCHOOL.

IP: 148.184.174.62 you sound a bit out of control. It has been said before or not, you better use civilised language inorder to make your point through. I hate preachers who believe are more Eritreans than others but they themselves have no attitude at all. We should all learn to make our point without belittling others. (tsibuQ inkelo Hmaq ayteqedm) zbahal bhil weledna nketel. nebsikha key-aremka nseb m'iram newrn zeyqubuln slezikhone.

I still need an explanation as to why the group preach for united Habesha. But no thanks for your reply Mr.know it all.

You sound a broken radio. It has been written and talked extensively here at DMB. But you are so lazy you dont want to do your homework. Aside all the evil conspiracies and obstacles towards our beloved Eritrea and its people, the main reason is the economy stupid.

I think growth is Temie
Temie when challenged came with a different nick name.I am saying this because the way he puts his message is similar, which is abscure, ambigeous. His style of writing is the same. He was Temie and now growth. . That is what I think as I feel there is similarities in both his topics.

in some cases he writes Asseb, messawa and he oncentrates on roades that are mean to tigray locations.

Why was not it good for growth biulding roads to other places.

1. he said from mereb ( Debremariam) to masswa. why????
2. Massawa- Assab thatmeets the dankalia with its junction to the higland eastern escarpment. why did he say this. Is it because there are mor people on this route who could use the route to do business.?? which people does he mean?

3 Semejana to Tesseney east to west via the Mereb river water flow. he is sauing Eritrea to biuld roads all over the border Area with tigray. from semejana to mereba to setit to Tessenay>

What a fool dreamer. he is talking everything about his dreams but not about growth.

Lets waite and see what will he come with next.
